Low Country Marsh

Watercolor marsh… my office is across the street from a marsh area, so that I get to see the marsh and the birds every day… this marsh is based on that marsh… I was going to put an egret in this one, but didn’t leave a spot for it… next time I’ll add an egret or two.

Elaine's #10 a Marsh

Elaine's #10 a Marsh

This is the other painting I did in Helen Beecham’s class. I saw a painting like this on the internet, unfortunately I do not remember the name of the artist (if you recognize this as similar to a work of yours, please let me know and I will give you credit). So this is a copy, not an original… I’ve actually tried to reproduce what I remembered about the original painting several times… but this time I think I captured the look that I liked so much, so of abstract and dream like quality to the marsh. It is on 300 lbs paper size is 11×14.

Still Water #6 …

Elaine's #6 of 100

It has been a LONG dry spell of not painting anything at all… I bought Stirling Edwards book ‘Watercolor Landscapes’ and that book inspired this painting of still water. I want to start painting more… I’ve missed it.
